Workpro Quantum 9000 Review: Brutal Truths!
An affordable price tag doesn’t really matter if the chair isn’t durable, easy to assemble, and user-friendly. So, I chose to review this chair to verify if it was worth it, like most buyers had said.
My findings were that the WorkPro quantum 9000 ergonomic is worth it. Find my reasons below.
Adjustability
To give you the right comfort at any time—this chair has easy-to-do adjustment options. It is this feature that makes the WorkPro 9000 a bit pricey but worth it. So, what are the options in regards to adjustments?
The available adjustments include:
- Backrest
- 3D armrests height
- Seat depth and height
- Headrest
- Tilt lockout and tension
Let’s have these adjustments under our microscope.
The Backrest Height
Pull the backrest upward to adjust its height. Do so while firmly holding the backrest. Upon attaining the backrest’s highest level, you can always return it to the lowest level if you wish. Due to the ability to raise or lower the backrest height, anyone—short or tall can comfortably use this WorkPro mesh chair.
Seat Depth and Height
It’s easy to adjust the Quantum 9000 seat depth by moving it to the front or back. Hold the rear handle on the right, then move the seat either to the front or back.
Depending on your needs, the seat can slide to 21 inches from 19 inches. Once you attain the right position, lock the position to prevent the seat from sliding after seating.
If you’re unsure of the correct position to use, here’s a hint for you: slide to 19 inches if you’re short and 21 inches if you’re tall.
3D Armrests Height
Your arms need sufficient support whenever you’re seated. Sufficient support is the foundation of good health as far as your arms are concerned. For example, the arms hurting due to strains associated with prolonged typing will be a thing of the past. So, how do you adjust the armrests to avoid strains?
Check on the outer side of the WorkPro office chair arms—you’ll see a lock release button. Hold the button and pull the armrests downwards if you want to lower them. Pulling them upwards increases the height of the armrests.
Did I mention that you can also adjust the arm-pad angle? Here’s what you need to do to achieve that successfully—hold the front position of the Quantum 9000 arm-pad and adjust its position. There are three different adjustment positions to pick from. Choose what fits you best.
Headrest
Your head needs perfect support. Else, you’ll also have neck pains. Besides, constant head strains may result in frequent headaches. Avoid this, therefore, by ensuring your head has sufficient support.
How do you do this? Tilt it upwards or downwards. How? Pull it upwards by holding the upper part. This way, the WorkPro quantum 9000 headrest rises. In contrast, pulling it downwards lowers it.
However, some chairs do not have the headrest—it comes as an add-on upon request. Is it necessary? It may be necessary based on your requirements, height, and what tasks you handle while seated.
If you love using the tilt angle, then I would say—get the headrest. Remember that you’ll need to pay more for this add-on.
Tilt Lockout and Tension
You can recline your seat backward without much ado. How do you achieve this? Simple! Use the handle on the left side of your Workpro chair. Next, push it to the front.
After attaining a comfortable position, lock your WorkPro 9000 chair. Do so by pushing the same handle backward after setting the back at the most comfortable position.
Moving on to the tilt tension—hold the black knob. It’s under your seat—on the right-hand side. Turn it counter-clockwise if you want to loosen the seat’s tilt. Keep rotating it until you have the right resistance. With the knob in place, it becomes less stressful for you to rock back and forth.
Built to last
The chair is a top-quality product. Why is that so? Most vital parts are made of metal. For example, the link found between the backrest and the seat is made of strong metal. The same applies to the armrest base, not to mention the cylinder, which features a single solid metal.
You can, therefore, rest assured that the WorkPro quantum 9000 cylinder doesn’t threaten your life while you’re busy working.
It’s for this reason that you would find this chair heavier than most mesh chairs. That’s not to say it is impossible to move it to another room. Not at all—it only weighs 59.7 pounds.
Commercial Seating Warranty
The 9000 series quantum chair has a limited warranty of five years. Even so, there are circumstances that may make the warranty void—for example, damage during assembly.
Also, normal wearing and tearing of the seat cushion, poor storage, accidents such as fires and natural calamities like floods, and usage by persons weighing more than 250 pounds, make the warranty void.
In addition, modification of the chair by unauthorized persons, misuse, and damage caused by usage exceeding the commercial seating rule also makes the warranty invalid. The rule states that a commercial chair should be used 40 hours a week, 8 hours a day.
Else, buy a WorkPro chair suitable for use, seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Such chairs also have an extra weight capacity that goes slightly higher than the ordinary 250 pounds.
So, what does the five-year warranty cover? It covers wood seating and polymer-based parts, seating upholstery material as well as other materials used to cover it, casters, foam, and glides.
Mesh Increases Comfort
The workpro quantum 9000 mesh series mid-back desk chair increases comfort. The seat, too, features a mesh that makes the seat friendly to your butts. The meshed foam is firm, which is why it’s not vulnerable to wear and tear.
To prevent your thighs from sweating—Quantum 9000 seat mesh is breathable, which is why you can sit on the chair for eight hours straight. I wouldn’t really say that it offers great comfort like the HM Aeron chair, but it’s worth it as it comes with a lower budget.

What Other Customers Are Saying
Let’s head back to January 2021, when a Chef bought his chair. Writing the WorkPro 9000 review from his personal experience, Chef was impressed and gave a five-star rating. Here are his reasons: He used a wrench, which he found in the shipping box when assembling his new chair. Unlike what many other seat manufacturers give, WorkPro had a seven-inch wrench. Incredible!
The assembly instructions were clear and straight to the point. After about 15 minutes, Chef was done with the assembly, which he noted was super easy. Due to the solid plastic and steel metal used in the construction, Chef noted that the chair was a bit heavy. Nothing to complain about as the construction material gives the chair the ability to last long.
With the four bolts in place, the back was firm to hold his weight. I couldn’t really quote everything he said, but the Chef confirmed that the chair was worth it. The bottom line, get one for yourself.
What I like
- Made of steel and hard plastic, therefore not vulnerable to breakage
- It’s cheaper than most chairs, so a better alternative for those who can’t afford the pricy HM chairs
- Assembly is super easy, and the manual guide is easy to read
- Mesh back, and seat offers comfort
- Numerous adjustment options for such a budget-friendly chair
- Workpro 9000 is built to last
What I don’t Like
- It’s not ready to use on arrival—I have to assemble it
- I have to buy the headrest separately at an extra cost
How to Assemble the WorkPro Quantum 9000 Chair
I sincerely don’t like assembling new products—sometimes it gives me goosebumps. At times, though, I love it because I feel like I am challenging my mind and the ability to pay attention to every critical detail. Assembling this chair is definitely one of those challenges I love.
Heads Up!
Before getting started, please ensure that all the parts as labeled are available. Each of the parts should be in the shipping box and in good working condition.
To avoid a case where the chair can be scratched while you assemble it, place it on the carpet. Else, place it on the shipping carton. Please remove any staples on the carton before using it, as they may also scratch the seat.
Avoid using power tools during installation and never cross-thread the given screws.
Here’s how you assemble the WorkPro mesh chair like an expert.
- Carefully turn the star-like base upside down. At the end of each of the five legs, carefully press the casters into the holes.
- Now, turn the star-like base upright. Right at the center of the star-like base, you’ll see a hole. Into it, insert the gas lift.
- Proceed by placing the seat cushion on a raised surface (must be a flat surface), with its face facing downwards. Skillfully attach the two armrests to your cushion using the four bolts, two of which have washers.
- Using all the bolts—assemble the back cushion to your seat cushion. If possible, use the Allen wrench (provided by the WorkPro chair 9000 manufacturers) to tighten all four bolts.
- Turn your now assembled seat. Push it down the central hole, which is above the gas lift. Ensure that the seat is now secure and firmly connected.
- You got it all set up and ready for use. But before you celebrate your hard work—confirm if all the four bolts are well tightened. If they’re good, the chair is ready. Also, do this every couple of months just in case they get loose without your knowledge. Congratulations! You just did it!
FAQs
Is WorkPro Herman Miller?
No, WorkPro is not Herman Miller, but the Quantum 9000 has close features to the HM Aeron chair. (Check Aeron alternative) While it doesn’t really beat the Aeron, it comes close to it in quality. I would, therefore, say that the Quantum 9000 is worth it as it lasts long, offers good comfort even for commercial seating, and is easy to assemble.
WorkPro is also much affordable.
Is The WorkPro 9000 Chair Right For You?
You just finished reading the WorkPro Quantum 9000 review. So, be the judge—is the seat and back mesh comfortable, unlike what other meshed chairs offer? Do you like the fact that you can sit at any angle and change it whenever you wish to get the most out of all the adjustment options in this chair?
How about the price that doesn’t leave your bank account empty? Wouldn’t you want a top-notch, highly stylish chair for such a budget? Today is the day you should order the chair and know what you’ve been missing.
Be warned, though, when doing assembly, doing it contrary to the given instructions only makes the WorkPro Quantum office chair warranty null.
