How To Install Recliner Battery Pack (No Bracket)
Firstly, know that batteries have two outlets. There’s an outlet to plug your battery into the motor after fully charging. The other outlet plugs into the transformer. Regardless of your battery type, they’re compatible with any kind of transformer, and they’re easy to install.
Step #1: Unplug the recliner and turn it over to access its bottom
Step #2: At the bottom of the recliner, access the transformer. If it’s not on the right, check it on the left, and vice-versa. Unplug it from the motor.
Step #3: Connect your recliner motor to the cables (pin-type) and the battery pack. Move the battery cable close to the recliner so that it can rest under the seat once you’ve moved your recliner back to its position. And boom! That’s all.
Step #4: Lift the recliner back to its position, sit, and relax.

How Do You Hook Up A Battery To A Recliner? (With Bracket)
To hook up a battery to a recliner with a bracket:
Step #1: At the back of your recliner, lift the back flap and carefully snap the recliner battery pack into the bracket.
Step #2: Flip your recliner to access its motor. Glab the round, flat pin and pull it to disconnect the motor from the transformer, which can be on the right or left of the recliner. It all depends on the design of your recliner.
Step #3: Connect the recliner motor to the battery pack as well as the pin connection.
Step#4: Have the back flap in its initial position and the recliner, too, after that.
Step #5: Move the battery cables under the recliner to ensure that they’re secure.
Can You Add A Battery Pack To A Power Recliner?
Power recliners have a battery backup to save for when you want to move it away from the source of power. Therefore, you can add a battery pack to most modern power recliners. To verify if your power recliner has a battery pack, check the cord to see if there’s an adapter box.
If you see a 9V battery compartment, then you can add a battery pack. To save the life of your battery and recliner, replace the battery each time you use it.
How Do Power Recliners Get Power?
Power recliners get power by connecting the motor to a power source. Here’s what I’m saying. Every reclining unit of your power recliner has a motor. It’s this motor that connects to the source of power through a cable.
The power cord, which should be behind the recliner, connects to the power source and plugs into an outlet (AC).

Do All Power Recliners Have To Be Plugged In?

- Plug both the transformer and battery into a power source (recommended: 120V).
- The light-emitting diode (LED) should blink red to indicate that it’s charging.
- Once fully charged, there will be solid green light.
- Upon seeing the green light, you can now stop charging by unplugging the transformer from the power outlet.
- Proceed by disconnecting the pack from the transformer.
- You can now plug back the recliner battery pack into the power cable.
Note: Some battery packs, for example, lifestyle battery packs, must not be unplugged when charging.
Caution:
- If you’re using the battery for the first time, charge it for not less than 8 hours before using it.
- Don’t allow the battery to get fully drained, as that may make recharge difficult.
- Only use the original power cord—provided by the manufacturer.
How Many Batteries Do I Need For A Recliner Sofa?
There’s no specific number of batteries you’ll need for a reclining sofa as it all goes down to the number of motions available on your model. Here’s the thing, each motion needs a different battery pack.
Take, for example, if one recliner sofa has two motions and another three, you’ll need two and three battery packs for each, respectively.
It’s worth noting that your battery pack may drain fast if your recliner has a headrest, speakers, Universal Serial Bus (USB) ports, and LED lights. The life of your battery pack may also be compromised by these features.
